  • WCM Kick-Off Breakfast, 2 November

    Objectives

  • A catered hot breakfast was provided for the WCM kick-off event , as well as a series of short briefs, including how to streamline the WTB assignment process, addressing Soldiers' medical and emotional (behavioral health) needs, and The Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program.

    Activities

  • Over 60 attendees participated in the WCM Kick-off Event
  • Key Speaker was COL Dudek who spoke about personal experiences with and in the WTB
  • Battalion and Brigade command teams participated in a mock TOL process
  • Commanders and surgeon on JBLM were afforded a question and answer session of the admission criteria and process

  • On 13 October 2017 staff and S/T’s in the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) hiked the Kealia Trail on Oahu’s North Shore for a Soldier fitness and teambuilding exercise.

    Objectives

  • Hiking is an integral part of the WTB’s Adaptive Rehabilitation Program and a favorite pastime on the island of Oahu. The hikers included Soldiers in Transition and WTB Cadre members.

    Activities

  • The three mile hike up the Kealia Trail is a challenging but rewarding hike. Hikers met early at the trailhead to watch the sunrise over North Shore, and began the hike with 28 Soldiers in Transition, family members, cadre, and staff. The event offered an off-site opportunity to enjoy camaraderie, build esprit de corps, and enjoy Hawaii’s natural beauty.

FRKS WTB WCM Opening Ceremony/Open House

The Fort Riley Warrior Transition Battalion held an opening ceremony and open house for the installation command teams during Warrior Care Month. After the Guest Speaker spoke during the Opening Ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to visit information booths manned by Social Workers, Nurse Case Managers, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Adaptive Reconditioning Program Assistant, Transition Coordinator, Red Cross, A CO representative, and HHC representative. Attendees were also provided a guided tour of the WTB footprint.
